Special Update from St. Elizabeth

Our hearts and prayers are with our communities today as clean up begins in much of our parish. Many of our patients, families, friends and team members have been greatly affected by the recent floods. Our number one priority is and will remain offering exceptional care for those we are privileged to serve.

St. Elizabeth Hospital is fully operational and fully staffed. Multiple St. Elizabeth Physicians’ medical clinics are open and available to meet our community’s primary care needs. For your convenience, extended walk-in visits are available. A list of open clinics and operating hours can be found below. While some clinics remain closed at this time, our goal is to have these clinics fully operational as soon as possible. We greatly appreciate your patience.

A special mobile clinic has also been established at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement. This walk-in clinic will help to serve those in the lower Livingston Parish area who have been affected and have little or no access to care at this time. The mobile clinic is available today until 4:00pm and Saturday-Sunday, August 20th - 21st, from 8:00am-3:00pm.

We would like to remind everyone to use extra precaution when cleaning out flooded homes. To ensure your safety, we encourage you to wear proper, closed-toe footwear, thick gloves, masks and eye protection. Proceed with caution, and survey the area before beginning to keep you out of harm’s way. Do not risk illness or injury.

We have received multiple inquiries regarding Tetanus vaccinations and where to receive them. St. Elizabeth Hospital maintains a supply for both our Emergency Room and patients that are admitted to the hospital. To ensure that we can meet that demand, we are unable to offer Tetanus vaccinations to the general public at this time. Should you have a questions about your last Tetanus vaccination, we encourage you to speak with your Primary Care Provider.

Tetanus vaccinations are currently being offered to First Responders free of charge from 8am to 5pm at the East Baton Rouge Parish Health Unit, 353 N. 12th Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. You can reach them at (225) 242-4862. Others pharmacy locations may also offer the vaccination, but there may be a fee involved.

We appreciate the opportunity to serve you and your family. It is our continued hope and prayer that you receive the peace and comfort that comes from Jesus Christ. Remember that we are a strong group of individuals. When water rise, so do we. God Bless.
